Paul O'Grady is to make one of his last appearances on television in a film for the Eurovision song contest.

O’Grady, who died “unexpectedly” at his home last month at the age of 67, is shown in a teaser which opens the BBC's coverage of the final rounds of the competition, which is being held in Liverpool this year.

Appearing halfway through the trailer, O’Grady is seen wearing an apron, with a dog in one hand and a mop in the other.

The comedian cleans the floor and casts a humorous smile towards the camera.

Filming took place only weeks before his death, a spokesman for the BBC said.

The ‘Welcome to Liverpool’ film will open coverage of the first semi-final on Tuesday when it airs at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
