Melania Trump issued an emotional message of support to the families of victims who lost their lives in the Texas floods.
In a rare speech, the first lady said “our nation is grieving with you” as she visited Texas alongside the president for a first-hand look at the devastation caused by the catastrophic flash flooding.
At least 120 people died in the floods, with around 170 people missing, among them, five young girls.
“My deepest sympathy to all of the parents who lost beautiful young souls, my deepest sympathy from all of us to the community, to everybody who lost a loved one. We are grieving with you. Our nation is grieving with you,” Mrs Trump said in a one-minute address.
After touring the site of the disaster, the first lady met with families of the victims and received a bracelet from one of the children’s camps in Kerr County, where at least 36 children lost their lives.
