Footage has emerged of Ebrahim Raisi travelling in the helicopter which later crashed, killing him.

The Iranian president and his foreign minister were both confirmed dead on Monday morning when rescuers reached the crash site. 

The helicopter had been flying through a mountainous region in bad weather, returning from a dam-opening ceremony in Azerbaijan.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, described Raini as “noble and selfless”.

He confirmed that new elections would be held within 50 days.
