Egyptian hitchhiker Khadija Mansour had to flee the Sudanese capital of Khartoum after fierce fighting engulfed the capital city. 

Mansour, whose trip from Egypt to South Africa was interrupted by the conflict, spoke of martial law and chaos on the roads leading away from Khartoum.  

Her group stayed overnight in a school as they were unable to reach their intended destination - the safe city of Madani - during their first trip on a truck heading away from the capital. 

Major operations are currently underway to evacuate foreign nationals from Sudan as the ongoing power struggle between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces continues to escalate.
