Shirtless, rifle-waving Israeli soldiers have been disciplined for taking part in an “insane” army base concert where a pop star stripped to his sequined underwear and rode in the bucket of a bulldozer.
A group of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reservists at an outpost in northern Israel were suspended over the raucous behaviour, which started when they were visited by Avihu Pinhasov for a morale-boosting performance.
Video footage of bare-chested Israeli troops waving their rifles around as they cheered on Mr Pinhasov is said to have bemused senior commanders, especially due to reports that large amounts of alcohol were consumed at the event.
Mr Pinhasov, who is virtually unknown outside of Israel but was once a Eurovision audition contestant, is filmed riding in the bucket of a bulldozer during the concert. He was dressed in unusual white overalls with goggles and carrying an Israeli flag.
In a series of video clips, he is seen leaping into the crowd and dancing, surrounded by cheering troops.
