A bear has been caught on video attacking a security guard at a luxury resort in Aspen, knocking him to the ground. 

People in the area reported seeing the bear enter the kitchen of the St Regis Aspen Resort, prompting the security guard to investigate. 

The guard was eventually able to get away from the attacking bear and call 911, Colorado Parks and Wildlife confirmed.

He suffered scratches to his back and was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries before being released. 

The “aggressive” bear has since been captured and euthanised following a search lasting several days.
