A Washington Post columnist has been fired after posting about the death of Charlie Kirk and “white men who espouse hatred”.

Karen Attiah claimed bosses at the newspaper deemed her comments on Bluesky, a social media platform popular with Left-wingers, “unacceptable”.

Ms Attiah, 39, the last full-time black op-ed writer at the Post, wrote on the platform: “Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.”
