Nearly 3,000 Vodafone customers across the UK were left without internet on Monday in the same month bills are going up.
More than 2,800 users reported having no internet access on Monday morning, according to the outage-tracking website Downdetector.
Vodafone’s Twitter account was swamped with complaints from users who said the firm had given them no explanation for the disruption.
Vodafone is one of the country’s biggest broadband providers with over one million customers.
The problems with its internet service come just as Vodafone customers face huge bill rises of nearly 15pc, well above the rate of inflation.
Many telecoms firms are increasing bills under “mid-contract price rises” in April. Vodafone, along with BT, adds 3.9 percentage points on top of the December consumer price index (CPI) measure of inflation.
A spokesman for Vodafone said: “We’re investigating an issue impacting some of our home broadband customers since this morning. Getting our customers reconnected is now our top priority, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this is causing.”
