Ukrainian drones have attacked a steel plant in the Russian city of Lipetsk, around 400 kilometres from the border with Ukraine.
Residents reported hearing explosions over the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant and a tractory factory, according to the ASTRA Telegram channel.
Igor Artamonov, the governor of Lipetsk Oblast, claimed one drone had been “suppressed” while another had been shot down “over the industrial territory of Lipetsk”.
“Law enforcement officers are working at the scene where wreckage has fallen,” he said, adding that there had been no casualties.
Ukraine has intensified its attacks on Russian industrial sites in recent months, striking oil and gas facilities hundreds of miles inside Russia.
