Ukraine launched a fresh salvo of Atacms missiles at Crimea overnight on Sunday, with local residents reporting loud explosions near several sensitive Russian military sites.
The attack is said to have hit the NIP-16 space communications complex and deep space tracking radars, with a locally-sourced video showing the complex in flames. Ambulances were later reported to be heading to the site.
Other impacts were recorded in Zaozerne, Yevpatoriia and Donuzlav, local media said.
“I heard two very powerful explosions in the city. The windows were shaking in my house, and ambulance and police sirens were heard in the city,” a Yevpatoriia resident said.
The governor of Sevastopol, the largest city in Crimea, said that an air raid warning had been issued shortly after 10pm and that all public transport was suspended for the duration of the attack.
A missile also reportedly hit a military base between the settlements of Molochne and Uiutne.
