Flooding in southern England brought on by half a month’s worth of rain falling in a single hour forced an airport to shut down.

Exeter Airport told customers all its flights were cancelled following torrential downpours and thunderstorms.

These included&nbsp;departures from Zante as well as the Channel Islands and&nbsp;Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Footage showed rising waters sweep into the airport’s main terminal.&nbsp;
