Tories to scrap inheritance tax in ‘one big throw of the dice’, George Osborne says

The Conservatives will pledge to abolish inheritance tax in “one big throw of the tax dice” to try and save themselves from electoral wipeout, George Osborne has said. The former chancellor described the proposal to get rid of death duties as a “potent weapon” in the Tories’ arsenal.

Readers’ view: The return of Nigel Farage

“On balance, this is good news, as Reform represents many traditional Tory values and Nigel Farage’s entry will bring more voters out to support Reform. My only concern is Farage’s support for Donald Trump, which implies his support for the brave people of Ukraine is less than wholesome. This may also signal he is comfortable in a world inhabited by Vladimir Putin.”
