Good evening. It has been reported that a second young person has come forward with allegations about the BBC presenter at the centre of a sex scandal.

Elsewhere, we have the latest from Wimbledon, as Ukraine’s unseeded Elina Svitolina stunned the world No 1 on Centre Court.

The individual, in their early 20s, claimed that they were contacted anonymously by the presenter via a dating app, who put them “under pressure” to meet up

It is alleged that they did not meet but when the young person hinted online that they might name the presenter, they received “abusive, expletive-filled messages” which left them frightened, BBC News reported.

We have the latest news on the crisis on our live blog

And Anita Singh reports on who has received a pay rise or cut in this year’s BBC salary list.

The BBC made only two attempts to contact the complainant in the sex scandal case involving one of its presenters, it emerged as the broadcaster published a timeline of events.

The corporation said the police have requested it “pause its investigations” into allegations a presenter paid for explicit photographs of a young person while officers “scope future work”.

Allison Pearson argues that the BBC’s refusal to name Mr X is just the beginning of its sordid, toxic culture

And Michael Deacon writes that for days, we’ve been watching BBC reporters report on the BBC... and it’s become utterly bewildering.
