Donald Trump has been presented with an “inaugural Diet Coke” ahead of his return to the White House.
James Quincey, Coca-Cola’s chief executive, gave the president-elect the unique bottle, which featured his name, the date of his inauguration on Jan 20 and a picture of the White House.
It comes just four years after the drinks company issued a statement criticising the storming of the US Capitol by Mr Trump’s supporters on Jan 6 as “an offence to the ideals of American democracy”.
However, with just days to go until Mr Trump takes office on Monday, corporations have been rushing to build bridges with his upcoming administration.
The Republican’s inaugural committee is reported to have raised a record $170 million for the event, including a $1 million contribution from Tim Cook, the chief executive of Apple.
Mr Cook, as well as the heads of Amazon, Google and Netflix, are all said to have met with Mr Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida following his election victory.
