Donald Trump and Sir Keir Starmer announced they had signed the UK-US trade deal – before the US president promptly dropped it on the floor.
Mr Trump confirmed he would be bringing the terms of the deal into effect after he met the Prime Minister for talks at the G7 summit in Canada.
Mr Trump lavished praise on Sir Keir, joking: “He’s slightly more liberal than I... but for some reason we get along.” He also said the Prime Minister had done a “really great” job.
At one point the US president moved to open a black folder to pose with the freshly signed deal in front of waiting press.
Several sheets of paper fell to the floor, with Sir Keir quickly picking them up.
