Far-right protesters have been accused of attacking a group of trans rights activists attending a drag queen story time event for children in south London.
The trans activists said they were assaulted by a small group of “fascist” demonstrators outside the Honor Oak pub on Saturday morning.
Scotland Yard said three people had been arrested during the disturbances.
In a statement the Met Police said: “Officers are on scene at a demonstration and counter-demo outside Honor Oak pub in St Germans Road, Forest Hill.
“Three people have been arrested – 2 for assault, 1 for public order offence. There are road closures in the surrounding area. Officers will respond to any disruption.”
The trans rights activists claimed they had been attacked while protecting the drag queen story time event, with counter protesters breaking at least one window at the Honor Oak pub.
