A leading NHS doctor at a north London hospital has been suspended over a string of allegedly “anti-Semitic” comments made online.
An account which appeared to be linked to Dr Ellen Kriesels, a consultant paediatrician and clinical lead for community paediatrics at Whittington Health NHS Trust, described Hamas as “oppressed resistance fighters, not terrorists”.
Statements posted by the account also claimed the reaction to the October 7 attacks on Israel was “always trying to frame the Jews as victims. So ridiculous. So excruciating. So exhausting.”
The trust was alerted to the posts on social media following Dr Kriesels’s participation in a pro-Palestinian protest in London on Sept 6.
