A two-year-old girl has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after being found in a village pond in Hampshire.

The child was discovered in Kingsley Pond, in Kingsley near Bordon, after being reported missing from her nearby home at 5.02pm on Sunday, Hampshire Police said.

A force spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a two-year-old girl missing from her home in Forge Road, Kingsley, Bordon.

“The child was found nearby in Kingsley Pond and has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

“Officers are making inquiries in the area to investigate the circumstances around this incident.”
