Ricki Lake, the former talk show host, has shared videos showing how she spent seven hours trying to save her Malibu home as fires rapidly approached the hillside where she lived.

The 56-year-old gave a step-by-step account of how she desperately battled to protect the property before eventually being forced to “surrender” it to the flames.

On Jan 9, a video shared to her Instagram showed thick, red smoke in the distance as the Pacific Palisades fire, which first broke out on Jan 7, approached her home at 11.24am.
