Households are facing a further increase in their energy bills from April as a “perfect storm” of stealth charges and geopolitical uncertainty pushes up costs, analysts have warned.

The average annual energy bill for consumers is forecast to jump by £45 to £1,762 from April, Cornwall Insight said, reversing earlier forecasts that prices would fall in line with seasonal declines in demand.
