Jeremy Hunt will today unveil his "Budget for growth" as he vows to "break down the barriers" that are preventing people from working.

The Chancellor will deliver his Budget just after PMQs at lunchtime in the House of Commons and he will set out the next stage in the Government’s plan to halve inflation, reduce debt and grow the economy.

Mr Hunt is expected to say that his plan will deliver "long term, sustainable, healthy growth" which will help to make "our country one of the most prosperous in the world".

Labour said today’s Budget represented an "opportunity for the Government to get us off their path of managed decline".
