Donald Trump’s US treasury secretary reportedly threatened to punch a rival at an exclusive Washington dinner.
Scott Bessent told Bill Pulte, a top housing finance official, he was going to hit him “in the f------ face” and that he would “beat” his “a--”, according to a Politico report.
Mr Bessent is said to have become enraged during the inaugural dinner at the Executive Branch, a newly opened club created for the Maga elite, in Washington, DC’s well-heeled Georgetown neighbourhood.
A membership to the club will set you back $500,000 a year and is available via invitation only.
According to Politico, the scene was relayed by “one eyewitness and four other people familiar” with the events at the ultra-exclusive dinner.
Mr Bessent allegedly told Mr Pulte, the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, he wanted to go outside where he was “going to f----- beat your ass”.
