Rishi Sunak launched a diplomatic charm offensive during his dinner with Fumio Kishida by wearing the socks of the Japanese premier's favourite baseball team.

Mr Sunak wore the red colours of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp as the leaders celebrated a new agreement, known as the "Hiroshima Accord", to build closer defence, security and cyber ties.
