Protesters behind ‘F— the Jews' pro-Palestine march planning Armistice Day action

Protesters behind a “F— the Jews” pro-Palestine convoy are planning action on Armistice Day in London.

Organisers of the 2021 convoy, where some demonstrators drove through Jewish areas shouting anti-Semitic abuse, are planning a new protest.

The pro-Palestine convoy, which is proposed to travel from Bradford to London, is being promoted on social media and flyers amid growing fears of violent disorder.

More than 70,000 people are expected to attend a demonstration in central London on Saturday to protest against Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, on the same day as veterans plan to gather at the Cenotaph to commemorate Britain’s war dead.

Metropolitan Police chiefs have so far resisted calls to block the rally by using their powers to apply to the Home Secretary Suella Braverman to ban it.

However, Robert Jenrick, the immigration minister, urged the police to intervene to prevent the Armistice Day pro-Palestine protests.

“When this convoy drove through London in 2021, spewing anti-Semitic hate, Priti Patel and I went to Golders Green with the Police to reassure worried people that they’d be protected from these thugs,” he said. “Once was more than enough. The Armistice Day protests should not proceed.”

Flyers and social media posts advertising both the earlier and current events bear the logos of 1Vision and Convoy4Palestine.

The Jewish Chronicle reported that Bradford activist Razaq Hussain has played a central role in organising the convoy although there is no suggestion that he was involved in any way with the earlier abuse. He also requested there be no violence at the next protest.

However, at a protest in Bradford last weekend, where the convoy is due to start, Hussain reportedly railed against Israel, which he termed “Zionist pigs” and urged his audience to “stick the middle finger up to the politicians” who stood by the country.

Another speaker at the same event – which was also organised by Convoy4Palestine and 1Vision – asked the crowd if they condemned the Hamas terror group that perpetrated the massacre of Oct 7. In reply, they reportedly shouted “no!”.

A third speaker claimed Israel had known Hamas was about to attack and perpetrate atrocities but had deliberately failed to act, because this had given the Jewish state “an excuse to cause a genocide”.

Anti-Semitic convoy in 2021

The earlier convoy on 16 May 2021 sparked tensions between Israel and Hamas. Several groups of six or seven cars sporting Palestinian flags were driven from northern England to the heartland of north London’s Jewish community in Golders Green.

Witnesses said they honked their horns and shouted abuse at Jewish bystanders, with calls to “f— the Jews, f— all of them, f— their mothers, rape their daughters and show your support for Palestine”.

Four men were later charged with using “threatening, abusive or insulting words, or behaviour, with intent, likely to stir up racial hatred”, but the cases were later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Earlier this year Mrs Braverman attacked this decision, saying: “When I think back to the anti-Israel convoy that drove through north London blasting anti-Semitic filth, it’s just outrageous that those people weren’t brought to justice. I think part of the reason for that was that the police response just wasn’t quick enough.”

She has described previous protests since the current war started with the Oct 7 atrocities as “hate marches”, while the Prime Minister has said he considers the plan to hold a huge demonstration on Armistice Day as “provocative and disrespectful”.

Mr Hussain has been approached for comment.
