A mass shooting at a Prague university has left at least 10 people dead, Czech authorities said, adding the gunman had also been “eliminated”.
Three dozen others were injured, nine of them seriously, Prague’s emergency services said.
The incident reportedly took place at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts, near the Czech capital’s Old Town, a major tourist hotspot.
Videos published on social media appeared to show people fleeing the scene.
“Stay put, don’t go anywhere, if you’re in the offices, lock them and place furniture in front of the door, turn off the lights,” said an email sent to staff at the university, seen by Reuters.
