Rishi Sunak’s net approval rating has sunk to its lowest level since he became Prime Minister, new polling has shown.
Just a quarter (25 per cent) of voters surveyed by YouGov hold a favourable view of the Prime Minister, while two thirds (65 per cent) have an unfavourable opinion.
This mean his favourability score, minus 40, is the lowest level since he took office in October. His approval score has dropped from minus 34 in late June.
It is bad news for Mr Sunak ahead of tomorrow’s by-elections in Uxbridge and South Ruislip, Selby and Ainsty and Somerton and Frome, with the Tories already bracing for a potential triple defeat.
He also faces continued challenges on the economy, with the cost of a mortgage hitting a 15-year high.
