Pictured: Anthony Joshua takes on liger in tug-of-war battle

Anthony Joshua has been photographed taking on a liger during a game of tug-of-war at Fame Park private zoo in Dubai.

The two-time world heavyweight champion met his match in the large feline and was pictured afterwards holding a sign that read “I lost”.

Ligers, which are the hybrid offspring of a male lion and female tiger, only exist in captivity and are the largest known cats in the world.

This particular animal also recently defeated Steven Seagal, the Hollywood action star, in a similar tug-of-war match at the zoo.

Joshua enjoyed a tour of the invite-only exotic animal park owned by billionaire Dr Saif Belhasa alongside Alessandro Del Piero, the Italian footballing legend.

The British fighter was also granted rare access to feed some of the animals during the visit and was pictured alongside bears, lions, a giant python and a crocodile.
