Pam Bondi accused Democratic senators of hypocrisy whilst being questioned over her handling of the Epstein files.
Appearing before the House judiciary committee for the first time since being sworn into office, Donald Trump’s attorney general went on the offensive, questioning Democrats about their own voting records and tenuous links to Jeffrey Epstein.
During a stand-off with Senator Dick Durbin, Ms Bondi accused the Chicago senator of repeatedly failing to vote for the release of Epstein flight logs and of taking donations from Reid Hoffman, the LinkedIn co-founder, who she called a “huge Epstein friend”.
“Senator Durbin, I find it very interesting that you refused repeated Republican requests to release the Epstein flight logs in 2023 and 2024,” she said.
“Did you take money from Reid Hoffman campaign donations, who was a huge Epstein friend?”
