Good evening. A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a maths teacher in his late 20s was stabbed at a secondary school in Gloucestershire this morning.
Jamie Sansom, a teacher from Newport, Wales, was taken to hospital this morning and is in a stable condition after reports of a stabbing, local sources said. Police were called to reports of a stabbing at the school in Tewkesbury, which is understood to have taken place in a classroom.
A source close to the school said the teacher was not intervening in a fight between pupils when he was stabbed, despite reports from parents that he had broken up an altercation.
