The minister for the Middle East was mobbed by screaming pro-Palestine protesters outside the Foreign Office on Wednesday.

Hamish Falconer was followed by activists for over a minute as he was escorted through Whitehall and into Parliament by police.

The incident comes despite Britain having paused trade talks with Israel this week and summoning its ambassador in protest of the country’s renewed offensive in Gaza.

Mr Falconer was accompanied through Whitehall by seven police officers around lunchtime as a crowd of protesters shouted abuse at him.

In social media footage posted to X on Wednesday afternoon, a woman filming Mr Falconer can be heard shouting at him: “Why are you still continuing to send arms to Israel?

“Why are you denying that there is a genocide when our hearts are being torn? You are supporting one man, 14,000 children are starving to death.”
