Javier Milei has been accused of spying on his political opponents through Argentina’s intelligence agency.
The Secretariat Intelligence of the State, known as SIDE, has been following more than a dozen opposition leaders, trade union officials, pensioner groups and disability organisations, according to a leaked intelligence document.
Among those targeted were Máximo Kirchner, the son of former president Cristina Kirchner; Sergio Massa, the presidential candidate who ran against Mr Milei in 2023; and Axel Kicillof, the governor of Buenos Aires.
