A young man has been stabbed to death at a train station in south-west London.
Detectives at British Transport Police opened a murder investigation after the victim, who was in his 20s, was declared dead at Strawberry Hill just before midnight on Monday.
Police and paramedics were called to the station near Twickenham at 11.53pm to reports of an injured man and said the wounds were consistent with being stabbed.
Four men have been arrested and remain in police custody.
Det Chief Insp Sam Blackburn said: “This is a senseless act of violence which has seen the tragic death of a young man.
“This investigation remains in the early stages and the station will remain closed while we continue our enquiries.”
The station remains closed on Tuesday.
South Western Railway said all lines are blocked between Twickenham and Teddington which will disrupt services between London Waterloo, Shepperton and Kingston throughout the day.
