German police are searching for a knifeman after at least one person was seriously injured in a stabbing next to the Holocaust memorial in Berlin.
The incident happened between the memorial to the victims of the Nazi regime and the US embassy building at around 6pm local time.
Clothes covered in blood were seen on the memorial as police and firemen cordoned off the area.
The injured victim, a man, was taken to hospital, and witnesses saw another man fleeing the area, police said.
Several people were being treated for shock, German media reported.
