Man charged with terror offence over body bag Hallowe’en display

A man has been charged with a terror offence over a Hallowe’en display featuring effigies of local politicians in body bags.

Stephen Marcum, 58, strung up several bin bags in his front garden at his home in Stanton, Kentucky, to look like bodies wrapped in plastic.

The figures, apparently intended as Hallowe’en decorations, had cardboard signs hung around their necks bearing the titles of local officials.

One read “mayor,” another said “district judge” and a third had the initials “CA,” thought to stand for commonwealth attorney, a type of local prosecutor. Another sign read “SIS,” although it is not clear which role it was referring to.

One other sign was not clear in footage shared by local news station WKYT.

Mr Marcum was charged with terroristic threatening and intimidating a witness after the local commonwealth attorney raised concerns over the decorations.
