Loretta Swit, the Emmy-winning actress known for playing Major Margaret ‘Hot Lips’ Houlihan in the TV series MASH, has died aged 87.
The actress died of natural causes, her publicist announced on Friday.
MASH aired from 1972 to 1983 and earned Swit 10 Emmy nominations and two awards for best supporting actress in a comedy series, in 1980 and 1982.
The series, based on the Oscar-winning 1970 film of the same name, was set at an Army hospital during the Korean war.
