Liam Payne toxicology report shows traces of ‘pink cocaine’

Liam Payne reportedly had “pink cocaine” along with other drugs inside his system when he fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

A post-mortem examination found that as well as “pink cocaine”, a designer drug that is typically a mix of ketamine, MDMA and methamphetamine, there were also traces of crack cocaine, US media reported.

Argentinian sources familiar with initial toxicology reports told ABC news that, along with the drugs found within Mr Payne’s system, an improvised aluminium pipe to consume the drugs was discovered in his room at CasaSur Hotel.

Marcelo Roma, who is leading the investigation into the former One Direction star’s death, said on Monday that initial results of the tests carried out on his body revealed the presence of cocaine.

Two members of the CasaSur Hotel’s staff are being investigated by police over allegations that they supplied the singer with drugs in the days immediately before his death.

Prior to Payne’s death, hotel staff called emergency services and asked them to “send someone with urgency” because a guest was “drunk with drugs and alcohol” and they were afraid “he could do something that threatens life”.

According to the Buenos Aires Emergency Medical Services, medical staff arrived roughly seven minutes later and found Mr Payne’s body in the inner courtyard of the hotel, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
