A Labour council has been accused of “sectarianism” over its twinning with a Palestinian city.
Brent council, in north-west London, voted to twin with Nablus in the West Bank to promote “cultural, social, economic and educational exchanges” following a meeting in May.
Muhammad Butt, the council leader, said at the time: “This is all about making sure the diversity of Brent and its community is being recognised.”
