Spending on the NHS would increase under a Labour government, Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

The Labour leader said he would pump more cash into the health service to bring down waiting times, but refused to reveal how much.

He also declined to say where most of the money would come from, adding that hospital reform would save the taxpayers cash in the long run.

Sir Keir made the remarks ahead of a speech in Essex on Monday morning, during which he will set out his vision of an NHS “fit for the future”.
