A judge overseeing the Jeffrey Epstein case has confirmed that she will begin releasing documents that could name more than 170 anonymous individuals associated with the late sex offender.

The disclosures may throw new light on the sex trafficking network directed by Epstein, who died in 2019, and his one-time girlfriend British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.

The disgraced millionaire mixed with high-profile figures and Prince Andrew and former US President Bill Clinton are among those expected to be named.

In total, there are 187 mentions of “J Doe” in the court papers, and many of these will now be given their real names.

A court filing from US District Judge Loretta Preska was posted on Wednesday. 

The judge said relevant parties will begin filing the unsealed documents today. However, it is the responsibility of legal counsel in each case to upload their own files – so it is not known precisely when the documents will be released, or whether the 170 names will be published in small or large batches.

Those names will not include two Does who submitted requests to remain under seal. These requests are being reviewed by the court.
