Jair Bolsonaro has said he was so “fired up” after receiving an invitation to Donald Trump’s inauguration that he “stopped taking Viagra”.

The former Brazilian president is one of a number of foreign dignitaries Mr Trump has invited to the ceremony on Jan 20, including Javier Milei, the Argentine leader, and Xi Jinping, the Chinese president.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mr Bolsonaro told The New York Times: “I’m feeling like a kid again with Trump’s invite. I’m fired up. I’m not even taking Viagra anymore.

“Trump’s gesture is something to be proud of, right? Who’s Trump? The most important guy in the world.”
