Hamas’s head of the head of intelligence and weapons department was killed by the Israeli Defence Forces, according to a statement this morning.
Mohsen Abu Zina was “one of the leaders in the production of strategic ammunition and rockets”, the IDF said.
In the update, the IDF added that missions are ongoing “deep in the Gaza Strip, eliminating terrorists and directing aircraft” to attack Hamas infrastructure.
Israel has said its war to end Hamas’ rule and crush its military capabilities will be long and difficult, and that it will maintain some form of control over the coastal enclave indefinitely.
The focus has been on the plight of the more than 240 hostages held by Hamas and other militant groups.
