Israel has killed two senior leaders of the Islamic Jihad terror organisation as it intensifies its air strikes in Syria.

Abdel Aziz Minawi, a member of Islamic Jihad’s political bureau, and Rasmi Abu Issa, the group’s foreign relations chief, died after Israeli fighter jets fired on a Damascus suburb on Thursday, sources told AFP.

Two dozen people died in the strikes, which targeted what Israel has described as command centres for the Islamist group, which took part in the October 7 massacres and still holds Israeli citizens hostage in Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces did not comment on the specifics of the attack but called them a “significant blow” to the organisation.
