Israel has warned Hezbollah that it will pay a “disproportionate” price if it harms Israeli civillians after the Lebanese terror group threatened to attack Israel.
Israeli and US officials have said they expect Hezbollah and Iran to strike Israel in the coming days, in retaliation for the killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, but they are unsure about the timing and scope of the attacks.
Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, vowed on Tuesday that the Lebanese militant group would strike back against Israel with a “strong” response. “What is required is confrontation,” Nasrallah said, adding: “whatever the consequences”.
Shortly before Nasrallah’s speech, an editorial in the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar suggested that Hezbollah is likely to target Tel Aviv in its attack.
