Benjamin Netanyahu is set to address Israel amid speculation that Israel will agree a ceasefire deal with Hezbollah to end the halt in Lebanon.
The Israeli prime minister will deliver a statement at 6pm UK time.
The US proposal would involve the terror group leaving southern Lebanon and Israel withdrawing its forces from the country.
Israeli media has reported that the truce will start at 10am local time on Wednesday.
Israel mounted waves of air strikes on Beirut on Tuesday as Israel’s security cabinet convened to discuss the proposed ceasefire.
Hezbollah started attacking Israel on Oct 8 in solidarity with Hamas following its Oct 7 massacre. Fighters have since fired at least 13,000 missiles, drones and rockets, killing 75 people.
Israel has launched thousands of air strikes and attacks against Hezbollah across Lebanon, killing more than 3,500.
