Monday’s release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza is under threat after both Jerusalem and Hamas raised concern over the lists of detainees to be freed, a Qatari official briefed on the matter told Reuters.
The official told Reuters that mediators are working with both parties to resolve issues and avoid delays as the truce enters its final day.
“There is a slight issue with today’s lists. The Qataris are working with both sides to resolve it and avoid delays,” the official said.
In the previous three days of the truce Israel submitted the names of Palestinian women and teenagers it would release from jail and Hamas would submit the names of Israeli civilian hostages it would release at least 12 hours ahead of the release.
The pause, which began on Friday, has seen 58 hostages freed, with over 100 Palestinian prisoners released by Israel in return. The ceasefire entered its last day on Monday.
