Hamas is due to release three more hostages on Saturday in exchange for Palestinian prisoners as part of the fragile peace deal in Gaza.
The men to be handed over were named as Ohad Ben Ami and Eli Sharabi – who were both snatched from Kibbutz Be’eri during Hamas’s attack on Oct 7, 2023 – and Or Levy, who was abducted that day from the Nova music festival.
The Hamas media office said Israel was expected to free 183 Palestinians who have been held in prisons.
The group of prisoners is expected to include 18 who have been serving life sentences, 54 serving long sentences and 111 who were detained in the Gaza Strip during the war.
On Friday, Hamas accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire accord and held off announcing the names of the hostages until a 4pm (2pm UK) deadline had passed.
It is not clear whether the delay will affect the scheduled exchange.
