Israeli fighter jets bombed the house of Hamas leader Ismael Haniyeh on Thursday, the Israeli military said.
The building in Gaza was used “as terrorist infrastructure and often served as a meeting point for Hamas’ senior leaders to direct terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers,”it said.
Israel’s forces were pushing forwards with its campaign at the al Shifa hospital overnight, which Israel maintains is concealing a Hamas command centre.
The IDF claimed the initial raid had uncovered military equipment, weapons and what spokesman Daniel Hagari described as “an operational headquarters with comms equipment”.
More than 2,000 civilians are sheltering in the complex and doctors have said that water, electricity and medical oxygen supplies have been cut off completely.
