A pro-Palestinian offshoot group of Just Stop Oil is threatening to bring London to a standstill during a “month of action”, The Telegraph can reveal.
Protesters from Youth Demand are plotting to blockade London’s roads as part of a mass campaign of civil disobedience throughout April.
Formed last year, the group has issued joint demands calling on the Government to stop sending arms to Israel and also to pay £1 trillion in reparations to countries affected by climate change.
Plans seen by the Telegraph detail how activists are intending to cripple the capital using a tactic known as “swarming”.
Hundreds of supporters will descend on specific locations, blocking the roads and bringing traffic to a standstill.
But rather than glue themselves to the road and refuse to move, the protesters will melt away when the police arrive, using public transport to move to another spot where they will do the same thing again.
It is thought the flash protests will cause chaos because they will be able to hit multiple spots every day and by avoiding arrest will be able to keep going throughout the whole of April.
The action is being planned in meetings across the country where activists are receiving detailed legal briefings and non-violence training.
