Hamas displays two of its surviving hostages in video

Hamas released a hostage video on Saturday offering proof of life for two further hostages.

The three-minute video features Keith Siegel, 64, and Omri Miran, 46, who identify themselves and say they are hoping for a hostage deal in order to return home.

It is not clear when the video was filmed, however, Mr Siegel mentions the Passover holiday, which took place earlier this week, suggesting the footage is recent. Mr Miran says he has been in captivity for 202 days, which would date it to Thursday or Friday.

Both men were kidnapped from kibbutzim during Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7. Mr Siegel, a US citizen, was taken captive with his wife Aviva but she was later released as part of the November hostage-prisoner swap.

The video shows the men individually, speaking in Hebrew. Both have a blank wall behind them and are wearing black T-shirts. At one point Mr Siegel doubles over crying as he struggles to talk.

The footage comes three days after another video featuring Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin.
Israeli officials have described the videos as psychological warfare.

Groups representing the families involved say they are evidence that the Israeli government must act quickly to bring the hostages home.
