Graham Linehan, the comedy writer, has been charged with harassment and criminal damage.
The Bafta-winning creator of Father Ted and The IT Crowd will appear at London’s Westminster Magistrates’ Court next month.
Linehan, who in recent years has become a high-profile opponent of trans ideology, said he looked forward to exposing his accuser in court.
In a statement on X, he said: “This is part of a long history of the police acting as a goon squad for trans rights activists.”
A CPS spokesman said: “Graham Linehan is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court for a first hearing to face charges of harassment without violence and criminal damage on 12 May.”
